Hey! I’m Jesika and I started working with Par-T-Perfect in the spring of 2015. My favourite season with Par-T-Perfect would have to be the summer. I just love all the awesome birthdays, picnics and events that take place outside in the sunshine! There are so many possibilities when outside — especially all the wacky games and activities that can be played! I would have to say that my favourite skill would be face painting. I love the look on children faces when they finally get to see what I’ve painted. I also love balloon twisting but I definitely would love to learn more designs! My favourite face paint to paint is a tie between a sparkly butterfly and Iron Man. For balloons, I love making bow and arrows!
I absolutely adore doing themed birthdays — everything from Survivor to Karaoke! It just plain fun to pretend you’re really a part of that environment, even if it’s just for a day. Costume parties are some of the most fun events that we do. I would have to say that dressing up as a pirate is my favourite! I just love being able to goof around with the kids and chase them around with balloon swords! My hidden talent is I love to sing! I have 5 years of previous musical theatre training and I love to write songs! Although I love all types of music, alternative would probably be my favourite genre. My favourite artists would probably be Radical Face and Simon & Garfunkel.
My favourite Par-T-Perfect moment just so happened to be when I hadn’t even begun working there! The year of my 9th birthday I remember getting Par-T-Perfect to come to my house for my birthday. There was a bouncy castle and balloon twisting. While all my friends were fully utilizing their time in the castle, I chose to hang back and watch the balloon animals being made. Eventually the party leader begun teaching me how to make the simple ones! It was the best party I had ever had and it was all thanks to PTP. So, when I was older I decided to go and work for the place that had made my party awesome so long ago. Ever since then, I’ve vowed to always make every single party equally as awesome!
I love working at PTP because you never know what the day will bring. You’re not working 8 hours a day sitting at a desk in an office, you’re moving around, interacting and making people’s day! I also love working with kids. Even when I’m not working at PTP I’m constantly surrounded by kids as I’m a lifeguard and I teach tons of swimming lessons!
