As you probably already know, this coming Monday, February 9th, is BC Family Day and we couldn’t be more excited! What could be better than an entire day dedicated to making memories with the people you love most? There is so much going on for Family Day this year, so no matter where you live there is bound to be something fun nearby! If you don’t have any plans yet, here are some great ideas:
Saturday, February 7
Start the weekend off right! Join our staff from 12:30-3 at Renfrew Park Community Centerfor games, crafts, face painting, balloon animals and a bouncy castle. This is an open event, but space is limited so register online for a guaranteed spot.
Sunday, February 8
Our Staff will be at Pinetree Community Centre in Coquitlam from 9-12 for Pinecones Drop-in with a bouncy castle & face painters!
Monday, February 9
On Family Day our staff will be kicking off the first day of Children’s Art Festival in Richmond from 10-4. The Richmond Cultural Centre will be transformed into a vibrant and colourful festival atmosphere involving fully interactive workshops, activities and performances tailored for children ages 2 thru 12. Through music, visual, literary and performing arts, professional artists will unleash the inner Picasso of every participant using a healthy balance between an organized learning environment and a happy chaos.
Free ice skating at Robson Square is always a popular choice for family outings. It’s open from 9-9, skate rentals are $4 and cleats and helmets are $2.
Grouse Mountain is offering half-priced lift tickets and general admission tickets for all BC residents, plus multiple family events, including family photo ops, kids’ activities, and special family-friendly terrain parks.
If you’re loving the free events, the Vancouver Art Gallery is offering free admission for kids 12 and under live music, interactive shadow play, tours and hands-on art making activities.
New West has family events going on at 3 different locations downtown. Pay them a visit from 11-3 for free activities, arts and crafts, and entertainment.
There are SO MANY events happening in Surrey that it needed its own list.
